The End of Days

Musical satire

Play by Ori Yaniv, Michael Stern, Neta Weiner
Directed by Roni Brodetzky

With a real nuclear threat looming, Israel is counting down its final days. The government unveils its last national plan: declaring one ultimate, nationwide Shabbat. For one weekend every citizen, no matter how religious, must strictly observe the Jewish day of rest: no electricity, driving, phones. The objective is to create a silence so holy; it forces the Messiah to arrive and trigger the End of Days.

Everyone falls in line. Everyone, except Yoel. Amidst a midlife crisis, Yoel does something he’s never done before: swim against the current. What starts as one man’s rebellion quickly spirals into a wild journey to the heart and guts of the nation, a journey that, at its peak, leaves the fate of all humanity resting on his scrawny shoulders. A musical satire on existential dread, national obsessions, pickles, and the Resurrection.
